Chris Bain, Chief Investment
Officer
Chris has over 30 years experience in the
resources sector having worked in mining, exploration, investment
research and corporate advisory roles. Trained as a
geologist, he has worked as an underground mine geologist at Mt
Isa, Queensland and then western Tasmania before moving to an
exploration role at Broken Hill, NSW.
He joined the finance sector in 1986 and has
held senior positions in mining research for fund management and
stockbroking. As a Director of a corporate advisory firm between
1998 and 2008, Chris undertook mining project diverstitures,
evaluations and valuations, capital raisings including several
initial public offerings and ASX listings and provided advice to
management and boards of resources companies. He is currently
Chairman of ASX listed Dart Mining NL.
During 2006-2007, Chris acted as investment
adviser for a successful private resource equity investment fund
investing exclusively in small to mid cap resource stocks
with a portfolio of approximately 40 companies. In 2007, that fund
consistently outperformed its benchmark index.
